Since its inception twenty-five years ago as a small, locals casino company, Station Casinos, Inc. has been steadfast in its commitment to promoting responsible gaming practices. As a provider of entertainment that can become problematic for some individuals, we do our best to provide information on the support, treatment and assistance programs available. Our record speaks for itself.
- The Company's Chief Financial Officer Glenn Christenson was appointed in August 2005 by Nevada Governor Kenny Guinn to sit on Nevada's newly created Advisory Committee on Problem Gambling. This committee will make recommendations to fund programs that assist in treating compulsive gambling disorders.
- Station Casinos, Inc. is a charter member of the National Center for Responsible Gaming and our CEO Frank Fertitta, III is a member of the Center's Board of Directors. We have contributed $50,000 to the organization.
- To enhance access to treatment for those without insurance coverage, in 1999 our company provided $50,000 in start-up funds to Problem Gambling Consultants, an organization that provides low-cost counseling and treatment programs for problem gamblers. We have since contributed an additional $20,000 to problem gambling consultants.
- Station Casinos has been a member of the Nevada Council on Problem Gambling since 1996 and has contributed more than $55,000 to the organization.
- Our company's benefits program includes insurance coverage for the treatment of problem gambling for our 11,000 team members who may recognize a gambling problem due to their proximity to the product.
- In compliance with Nevada Gaming Commission Regulation 5.170, we post written materials concerning the nature and symptoms of problem gambling and the toll-free 1-800 problem gambling helpline on or near all gaming and cage areas and ATM machines located at our properties.
- We are a charter member of the American Gaming Association and fully support and utilize the entire spectrum of materials, programs and events they sponsor to promote responsible gaming among our guests and team members.
- Our team members actively participate in events that take place annually during Responsible Gaming Education Week. These activities are designed to promote awareness among our team members and our guests of the need to gamble responsibly and of the treatment options available for problem gamblers.
